Emergency Response Planning: Crisis Management for Hazardous Environments

 

Ø INTRODUCTION


 Emergencies and disasters can occur any time without warning. The more a corporate is prepared for emergency, the better they will be able to act, minimizing panic and confusion when an emergency occurs.The purpose of IACT course  training is to help employers develop emergency response plans that will meet the specific needs of their businesses.

 This program trains ERT members to handle various emergencies by developing Emergency Response Plan (ERP), understanding Emergency Procedure and executing Incident Command System (ICS) during disaster.

 

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

l  Describe the key steps in emergency planning

l  Identify and assess potential emergencies and their organization’s response capacity

l  Create an emergency response plan outline

l  Develop a process for continuous improvement of the plan

 

Ø Objectives

 

At this program's conclusion, participants should be able to:

 

l  Provide an understanding of the planning and preparation of emergency response plans.

l  Recognise the attributes between incidents, emergencies and crisis situations

l  Develop methods to avoid unnecessary escalation, and how to design, command and control response to each scenario

l  Enhance on-scene leadership capabilities and techniques

l  Apply best practice in organizing Emergency Control Centers (ECC), Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and Crisis Management Teams (CRT) to assist the Forward Incident Control (FIC)

l  Analyze human factor and allocate duties with regards to psychological readiness, recourse allocation, deployment, discipline, leadership and welfare

l  Participants would bring their existing plans for review and to determine any gaps as they move through the course.

l  Participants will collaborate in small groups to analyze scenarios using incident videos and case studies.

l  Develop the hierarchy of commands

l  Understand Evacuation & Emergency response procedures

l  Lead and contribute directly in the event of emergency

 
 

Ø TRAINING METHODOLOGY


This training course will combine presentations with instructor-guided interactive discussions between participants relating to their individual workplace. Practical exercises, video material and case studies aiming at stimulating these discussions and providing maximum benefit to the participants will support the training.

This interactive training course includes the following training methodologies as a percentage of the total tuition hours:
